AngieName: Angie
Born: 26 June 1969
Occupation: Founder of TMBABW
Skin Type Now: Have you got all day?  Seriously, I have very sensitive skin, Rosacea (which is often kept under control by natural & organic skincare – but of course).  I used to think that there was something seriously wrong with ‘me’.  I would purchase skincare/makeup items from the high street and I really couldn’t understand, why, just me, rather than my friends and family, experienced such terrible allergies when applying these concoctions to my skin!  So, to sum up, I have combination/oily/dry – a very mixed bag on very bad/stressful days, which are now thankfully becoming few and far between, what with incorporating mind training/meditation into my life.
Skin Type History: A typical type teen skin, up until about age 35 years… then I started to experience more dry skin patches and extreme sensitivities.  More of my history can be found on the Problem Skintype page: http://www.theremustbeabetterway.co.uk/acatalog/Problem_Oily_Sensitive_Skin.html
Hair Type: Loose curls and has the tendancy to frizz very badly.  But the wonderful organic & natural shampoos and conditioners help in this area.Angie2
When was your photo taken?  The one in my hat was February 2009… the one with no hat…mmm, I think it was July 2007.
If you were stranded on a desert island, and you could take ONLY one product with you, what would it be?  The Pure Health Shea Butter, I could use this as a facial moisturiser, body moisturiser and hair conditioner!   A versatile and nourishing little number!
Would you like to add anything further?  I do believe we all have a dream in life, and to pursue it will be the making of us.   When I was a child, I used to play shops with my friends and create Rose Petal perfume in my garden.  When the petals naturally dropped from the Roses in my neighbour’s garden, I would collect the petals and create the delicious aromatic water!  Back in the early 90’s I became aware of the chemical nasties in the high street products.  But, it was only when I became very ill with a skin disorder, that I really did do something about it, ie. looking into chemicals more thoroughly.  This event in my life, I now see as a huge blessing in disguise!  I dreamt of being a Holistic Therapist in the late 90’s, running a natural & organic shop with natural holistic treatment rooms.   By the year 2000,  I really had enough of bouncing around in my comfort zone, and thus chose to study, and so I commenced 3 years worth of training in anatomy & physiology, swedish massage & advanced aromatherapy.  Even though at the time I couldn’t face going back to homework, I looked at it like this - it was either another 3 years doing nothing about my dream, or, 3 years working towards it… baby steps and anything is achievable!  Now, I am living my dream, for real and it is getting better and better!  I now realise that my purpose lies in helping others who face skin challenges, as I really do know what it can be like to encounter so many annoying and utterly tiresome allergies when trying to take care of my skin.
